Why hit with one trailer when you can hit with two? That seems to be the thinking with these two looks at The Girl in the Spider’s Web, a new Lisbeth Salander spinoff from Stieg Larsson‘s Millennium trilogy.
They’re both quite different, the above one being the Australian-released trailer, the one below the “international” teaser release. Both, however (and of course), feature Claire Foy in the role of Salander. It’s a long way from keeping a throne warm in Buck Palace to being a pierced and tattooed hacker, but hey, the character name is almost the same!
The official blurb is pretty generic, but here goes: “Young computer hacker Lisbeth Salander and journalist Mikael Blomkvist find themselves caught in a web of spies, cybercriminals and corrupt government officials.”
Don’t Breathe director Fede Álvarez will helm this one, which is based on the book by David Lagercrantz (Larsson died of a heart attack back in 2004). Sverrir Gudnason (last seen playing Bjorn Borg in Borg vs McEnroe) will step into the shoes of Blomkvist.
The Girl in the Spider’s Web is set to hit cinemas in November.
