Beavis and Butt-Head, the ultimate pair of 1990s slackers, have managed to get off their couch long enough to do a deal for a new TV series.
The Mike Judge creations will be bringing their unique wisdom to at least two new seasons of their eponymous show, which is set to hit Comedy Central.
Since the series first aired on MTV, Judge went on to create such cult movies as Office Space and the scarily documentary-like (and absolute must-watch) Idiocracy, as well as co-creating TV series Silicon Valley. He’ll return to writing, directing and voicing his metal-loving duo. As he said of the announcement, “It seemed like the time was right to get stupid again.”
The original series is remembered for B&B’s critical appraisal of music videos, however there’s no word as to whether these will return in the new series.
Meanwhile, in the same orbit, a spin-off from Daria has been announced, which will focus on the character Jodie and star the voice of Tracee Ellis Ross.
