As Stephen King’s tales undergo a cinematic renaissance with the likes of It, his most famous town is coming to TV in the 10-part first season of Castle Rock.
The series will weave characters and themes from King’s stories into the history of the famous fictional town in Maine.
The cast features some heavy-hitting names, too, including Sissy Spacek (Carrie), Melanie Lynskey (Heavenly Creatures), Scott Glenn (The Right Stuff), André Holland (Moonlight), Jane Levy (Don’t Breathe), Terry O’Quinn (TV’s Lost) and no stranger to King tales, Bill Skarsgård (but he’s not playing Pennywise here).
This 24-minute documentary, released to promote the TV series, goes beyond your standard featurette fluff for a rather in-depth look not only at Castle Rock, but also at the legacy of King. This includes visiting places in Maine that gave life to some of his incredible stories, as well as examining actual events that inspired him.
