A toxic fog has enveloped the Earth, and it’s up to the crew of the Rubikon space station whether anything is done about helping survivors.

That’s the basic premise of Rubikon, a new sci-fi outing from Austria starring Julia Franz Richter, George Blagden and Mark Ivanir and directed by Magdalena Lauritsch.

The movie presents the crew with a moral conundrum. They know that there are survivors on Earth, and the space station’s supply of clever algae can help them, but the crew would be putting themselves at great risk attempting any sort of rescue mission. So, what to do?
