If you’ve ploughed through Friends and run out of Seinfeld, some ’90s-styled relief may be at hand, with a planned return of Ally McBeal.
Yes, the series that launched that creepy dancing baby meme when most of us didn’t even know that they were called memes is set to return, but as a new series. At least that’s what TVLine reckon, and we’ve no reason to doubt them.
It’s set to be a limited series, and obviously they’ll be wanting Calista Flockhart to revive her role as the titular legal eagle.
Series creator David E. Kelley is behind the move, planning to be involved in an executive producer capacity, with a female showrunner.
It’s not sure which other cast members may be asked to return, with the liks of Gil Bellows, Lisa Nicole Carson, Portia de Rossi, Robert Downey Jr., Greg Germann, Jane Krakowski, Lucy Liu, Peter MacNicol and Courtney Thorne-Smith all featuring as regulars at various times. Iron Man may be a hard get nowadays…
While we wait, here’s a quick look back at Ally via Sweden, because why not?
