The story behind the creators of Wonder Woman and her comics is set to hit movie screens in the form of biopic Professor Marston & the Wonder Women.
Talk about an interesting story, too. The film, starring Luke Evans, Rebecca Hall and Bella Heathcote, examines the rather unconventional – especially at the time – life of Dr William Moulton Marston (Evans). He and his wife Elizabeth (Hall) formed a relationship with former student Olive Byrne (Heathcote), with the love triangle and its various members’ feminist ideals leading to the creation of Wonder Woman in 1941.
The movie also looks at the storms of protest over the character, who possessed many of the kinkier elements of the trio’s relationship in a time that just wasn’t ready for them.
We don’t have an Aussie release date yet, however Professor Marston & the Wonder Women is slated for a late October release in the US.
Anyway, here’s the trailer…
