Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel turned 50 on Monday night, and he received an awesome reminder of his childhood thanks to J.J. Abrams and his super friends.
Somewhere around age 10, the reasonably talented young James created ‘The Terrific Ten’, a dectet of superheroes led by Muscle Man. From a leprechaun to a duck to a token female, they are our guardians against the evilness of evil Dr. Bolt. Who we presume is evil.
Anyway, as a pretty darned cool birthday pressie, Abrams got a bunch of famous friends together – including Ben Affleck, Jon Hamm, Shaquille O’Neal, Zach Galifianakis and Jennifer Aniston – to make a trailer for Kimmel’s comic book fantasy. As for who plays Dr. Bolt? Well, if you can’t guess then you don’t know Kimmel.
It’s a total cack, so take a few minutes to sit back and see what it’s like to have your childhood artistry come to life. In our case it would be all manner of bizarre top 40 hit compilations. We guess that wouldn’t make for much of a trailer, but it could be fodder for a great K-Tel ad…
