La La Land was the big winner at this year’s BAFTAs, winning best film and best director.

Damian Chazelle’s dazzling salute to old school musicals won five awards in total, including a best actress award for Emma Stone.

As expected, Casey Affleck won best actor for his performance in Manchester By The Sea, with director Kenneth Lonergan also winning the award for best screenplay.

Mel Gibson’s Hacksaw Ridge had been nominated for five awards but in the end had to settle for a solitary statuette for best film editing.
