Back in 2008, releasing Marvel’s relatively obscure (at the time) character Iron Man into a movie was seen as risky. Now, only 10 years later, you can scarcely blink without another MCU flick popping up (not that we’re complaining).
In the much-hyped lead up to the release of Avengers: Infinity War in Aussie cinemas on April 25, Marvel have released a video that goes (slightly) beyond simple rah-rah to reveal Iron Man director Jon Favreau’s thoughts and feelings leading up to the movie’s launch. Would it succeed? Would it be a massive, magnetic flop? Spoiler-not-spoiler: It was pretty huge.
The video also features snippets from MCU supremo Kevin Feige, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn, and a bunch of superheroic stars in Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Pratt, Chadwick Boseman and Elizabeth Olsen, as the legacy of Iron Man and all that followed is brought into focus.
