Australia’s premiere cult and horror film festival returns to the Lido Cinema in Melbourne from November 24–27.

Ted Kotcheff, director of the 1971 Australian classic Wake in Fright, will be a special guest at the four-day event, which includes genre film premieres, repertory sidebars and other Monster madness.

Kotcheff will present a special screening of his outback nightmare and will also be the keynote speaker at the Swinburne University Media and Monster Academy conference, which includes a multi-media masterclass hosted by the filmmaker.

The Fest has also announced that its closing night film will be The Greasy Strangler, a depraved cult-classic-in-waiting that sent Sundance audiences berserk. The film involves a weird father and son relationship, disco, and the titular serial killer who covers himself in lard. In other words, the perfect fit for Monster Fest.
