Office Space creator Mike Judge’s much underrated 2006 comedy flick Idiocracy predicted a decidedly dumb future for mankind some 500 years from now. Scarily, just a decade and a bit later we’re already seeing regular signs of it actually happening.

One of the funniest parts of the movie was that the US president was once a major wrestling star. Played by Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), President Camacho still presented with the same pomp and circumstance that orbited him when he was bouncing around the ring. He also dressed the same… and toted a machine gun.

A completely ridiculous situation, yeah? Well, as Idiocracy inches from comedy movie to documentary feature more every day, news now hits that action hero Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson – a former WWE superstar, of course – is seriously considering a tilt at the US presidency in the future.

Really. We couldn’t make this stuff up.

When asked if he’d consider one day running, the big, charismatic Ballers star told GQ, “I think that it’s a real possibility.”

Can he hurry up and get it together for the next election?

Meanwhile, here’s a taste of Idiocracy
