Harrison Ford’s accident on the set of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in June 2014 has cost Disney-owned production company Foodles Production US $2.6 million in fines.
Ford’s left leg was crushed during rehearsal when a rapidly closing hydraulic door on the Millennium Falcon set trapped it. The severe injury required extensive surgery and such was the weight of the door, it could have killed the actor, the court was told.
Foodles production admitted to two breaches of health and safety laws.
When it comes to The Force Awakens, Ford was lucky. Han Solo, not so much.
