It’s STACK‘s Friday Flick time, where each week we’ll recommend a slice of classic movie viewing that’s sure to get your weekend off to a great start. This week, it’s Clear and Present Danger.
For somw reason our thoughts have been tuned to US polit0ics this week, so what better time for some thematically related action?
Jack Ryan is moving up the food chain at the CIA in this second Phillip Noyce directed Ryan tale, but as he does he realises that something’s rotten in both the country of Colombia and the district of Columbia. Take South American drug cartels, the murder of friends of the US president, the slaughter of others in the White House orbit, a secret CIA strike force, crooked politicians and bang them all together, then throw good guy Jack into the mix and it’s a recipe for political intrigue as only Tom Clancy delivers it.
Four reasons why Clear and Present Danger rocks:
1. Harrison Ford in action mode.
2. The motorcade ambush.
3. “I’m sorry, Mr President, I don’t dance.”
4. Donald Moffat’s President Bennett, helping to define the template…
