It’s STACK‘s Friday Flick time, where each week we recommend some quality viewing that’s sure to get your weekend off to a great start. This week, it’s Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
John Hughes gave us many memorable films, and everybody has a favourite. For many that’s Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, the tale of that Teflon guy that every school had who just kind of cruised by doing what he wanted, being worshipped by all. Well, mostly all.
In this particular instance Ferris (Matthew Broderick) decides that it’s too nice a day for school, so feigns illness to his parents then hooks up with his girlfriend (Mia Sara) and completely stresses out his supposed best friend Cameron (Alan Ruck), all in the name of fun.
Four reasons why Ferris Bueller’s Day Off rocks:
1. “Bueller? Bueller…? Bueller…?”
2. The parade.
3. The Dream Academy’s instrumental version of The Smiths’ Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want in the museum scene.
4. Jeanie’s (Jennifer Grey) reaction when encountering Rooney in her home.
