It’s STACK‘s Friday Flick time, where each week we’ll recommend a slice of top movie viewing that’s sure to get your weekend off to a great start. This week, it’s Kingsman: The Secret Service.
The spy genre is ripe for comedy, but it’s a hard ask to strike the right balance. Kick-Ass writer/director Matthew Vaughn was definitely the man for the job, managing to pull it off here with just the right injection of silly and fun into a large scale spy action caper. It’s a rollicking ride, topped off by the presence of the great Michael Caine and a super-cool Mark Hamill cameo.
Four reasons why Kingsman: The Secret Service rocks:
1. Colin Firth’s unbridled Britishness.
2. The big screen arrival of Taron Egerton.
3. Samuel L Jackson’s marvellously eccentric performance.
4. “Manners maketh man.”
