It’s STACK‘s Friday Flick time, where each week we’ll recommend a slice of top movie viewing that’s sure to get your weekend off to a great start. This week, it’s Mean Girls.
After growing up home-schooled in Africa, Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) finds going to a regular school back home in the USA quite the shock. It isn’t the timetables, the regimented lessons or any of that actual scholastic stuff, however, it’s navigating the choppy waters of social cliques.
Falling in with the most notorious of all of them, “The Plastics”, Cady works as a mole to bring down their air of superiority. At least, that’s the initial intention…
Mean Girls is a totally fun, often super-funny amplified time capsule of high school life in the early 21st century, even if almost two decades later a few parts deliver a fair bit of cringe. Hey, maybe the movie, like, helped teach the world something? Whatever, we’re getting cheese fries!
Four reasons why Mean Girls is so fetch:
1. Tina Fey.
2. Janis and Damian.
3. “I’m not like a regular mom. I’m a cool mom.”
4. The clothes – from the various pink numbers right through to Cady’s Halloween creation.
