It’s STACK‘s Friday Flick time, where each week we’ll recommend a slice of classic movie viewing that’s sure to get your weekend off to a great start. This week, it’s Zombieland.
Revisit one of the all-time great zom-coms, then book a theatre ticket to a late night session of the sequel. Evening sorted!
Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin are the fantastic foursome navigating a post-apocalypse world filled with the walking dead, which came about when a contaminated burger from a gas station unleashed a zombie virus. Eisenberg’s dweebie Columbus has managed to survive thanks to his own set of rules – including Cardio (run!), Double Tap (double check that zombie is really down for the count) and Seatbelt (always fasten) – while Woody’s gun-totin’ Tallahassee is fixated on finding a Twinkie. Stone and Breslin are the sibling scammers who take these guys for a ride. This 2009 cult classic is smartly scripted and genuinely hilarious – if you’ve never seen it, where have you been for the last ten years?
Four reasons why Zombieland rocks:
1. Bill Murray.
2. Snarky humour.
3. Zombie gore.
4. The fairground finale.
