We’re Australian. We grew up with pissy theme parks where if you got to clamber about on an old Melbourne tram then you were in Thrillsville. We’ve always harboured dreams of Disneyland, and with this new Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire experience we’re about to flip into serious “Take us to Mount Splashmore!” mode.
This thing isn’t a ride, it’s a “hyper-reality experience”, and it looks totally wowgasmic. In teams of four you’re transported to the molten planet of Mustafar via VR headset, with the aim of recovering Imperial intelligence that’s absolutely vital to the rebellion’s survival. Helped by K-2S0, your free-to-roam team must find their way through an enemy facility – disguised as stormtroopers! Blast, solve puzzles, blast, fight giant lava monsters and blast some more so as to pull off a successful mission.
A collaboration between Lucasfilm, The VOID and ILMxLAB, Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire is coming to Disney Springs in Florida and Downtown Disney in California this summer (our time).
We’re not jelly, we’re not jelly, we’re not jelly…
