Like many older institutions, postal services have had to get with the times and pander to popular trends in order to actually sell stuff. We don’t hear too many complaints from collectors – especially when there’s cool stuff released like these The Last Jedi Star Wars stamps from Royal Mail in the UK.
The set of stamps feature eight non-humanoid characters from the Star Wars universe – Chewbacca, C-3Po, R2-D2, BB-8, K-2SO, Maz Kanata, Supreme Leader Snoke and cutesy newcomer Porg. If that isn’t cool enough in itself, some of them are set to feature secret messages that will only be revealed under UV light.
They’ll be released on October 12 in a near-exhausting array of collectible formats, which can be ordered here.
They’re not the first Star Wars stamps that the British post office has released, with a set of 12 by the same artist previously issued to coincide with the launch of The Force Awakens.
Meanwhile, in more watchable news, Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits Australian cinemas on December 14.
