In Stephen King’s 11.22.63 – which has just been released on DVD and Blu-ray – James Franco goes back in time in a bid to prevent the assassination of John F Kennedy. But the date the best-selling author would go back to is 06.19.99.
That was day in which was King almost died after being hit by a driver while out walking. “It left me with two years of rehab and an OxyContin habit that I had to kick,” he recalls. “That was a tough day and when you think about it, if I had gone on that walk five minutes later, I don’t meet that guy on a blind curve.”
However, King adds: “If that guy doesn’t hit me when he did, maybe I’d have jumped on my motorcycle two days later and get wiped out by a 16 wheeler… Maybe it’s a good thing that there isn’t time travel!”
