Australian actor David Berry is among the new additions to the cast of Outlander for the third season.

Production on the third series of the time-travelling romantic saga – the second season of which is released on DVD and Blu-ray today – began in September and continues the story of Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Sam Heughan (Jamie), the lovers separated by continents and centuries.

Berry, best known for his role in A Place To Call Home, has been cast as Lord John Grey, a disgraced British nobleman who is the governor of a remote prison in Northern Scotland. Other new additions to the ensemble for the third season include John Bell (The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies), who will play Jamie’s young nephew Ian, Wil Johnson (TV’s Waking the Dead) as a medical colleague of Claire’s, and César Domboy (The Walk), the now grown-up French pickpocket Fergus, who the couple took under their wing in the second season.

Meanwhile, die-hard fans of the show will need to check out JB Hi-Fi’s exclusive DVD and Blu-ray editions of Outlander: The Complete Second Season, which features alternative artwork, plus a 32 page booklet.
