Whether you’re good or bad at video games, it’s always fun to watch the pros play. Esports is growing each year, and in 2019 there are so many exciting events to spectate and get involved in. To make it easy, we’ve found the biggest and best events to look out for Down Under.

Melbourne Esports Open
Australia’s inaugural esports festival was held in 2018 in Melbourne, presented by none other than JB Hi-Fi! Needless to say it was a smash hit and will certainly be returning again this year, bigger and better. Stay tuned for further announcements on the event via STACK. Don’t miss out!

Oceanic Pro League – League of Legends
The MOBA game League of Legends hosted the 2018 OPL Final at Melbourne Esports Open, and held its League of Origin event at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena. There’s no official word yet on where these events will be held this year, but if they’re anything like last year, you’ll absolutely want to be there.

PAX Australia
PAX is a convention celebrating video games and pop culture. It originated in America, but like most American things we borrow, we made our version better! It’s held annually at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre over three days in late October. There are always tournaments and competitions you can enter or spectate, and you’re bound to find your favourite game there.

CS:GO IEM Sydney
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is the most recent game in the Counter-Strike series. Intel Extreme Masters is the longest running global pro gaming tour in the world, and this year it’s back again in Australia for the third time. It will be held at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena from May 3-5.
