It’s official – esports will be officially recognised as an Olympic Sport in the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

The Olympic Council of Asia has recently announced that esports will become a medal sport in the games in 5 years’ time.

This, however, doesn’t include specification on which games will be playable, etc., so you’ll have to wait to find out what to start practicing if you want to fulfill your childhood dream of becoming an ‘Olympic Athlete’.

Hopefully we’ll get to see games like CS: GO, Overwatch, League of Legends, DOTA 2, and others make their way to the spotlight. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
