Holidaying to Port Macquarie and run out of things to do? Never fear – Drew at JB Hi-Fi will help you out. He tells STACK his store moves a heap of Nintendo Switch consoles to people on vaycay.

“A lot of people come in the store looking for something portable like the Switch; something kid-friendly that they can play with the family.”

Though it may not be the norm, Drew also mentions that Xbox outsells any other console in Port Macquarie.

“A lot of people think it’s weird, but Xbox is actually our biggest seller here. PlayStation, of course, is a close second, and you do occasionally get people in buying a Switch, but we definitely sell more Xboxes than anything else.”

While we’re in the quieter months for new releases, Drew is still selling customers everything they need for Fortnite.

“We’re in some of the slower months as far as releases go at the moment, but everyone’s definitely keen to jump on the Fortnite hype train.”

The store is also taking a bunch of pre-orders for what’s shaping up to be an absolutely stacked Q4 for games.

“There are heaps of pr-eorders coming in at the moment. The two bigger ones are definitely Red Dead Redemption 2 and Fallout 76.”

And what does Drew think about the new Fallout heading online?

“I think it’s a good new direction for Bethesda. I know a lot of people see Fallout as this single-player, campaign driven game, but it’s nice that they’re giving the fans something a little bit different.”

As far as what Drew’s been playing, he recently finished the new David Cage title.

“I just finished Detroit: Become Human, and I’m looking forward to getting back in and going over all the paths I didn’t get to see the first time around. I’m also really looking forward to checking out Fallout 76 when it launches, and I can’t wait to jump into Red Dead Redemption 2 in October.” You’re not alone, Drew.
