Some games are just guaranteed to show up every year.

As part of our countdown to the commencement of E3 2018 – with EA Play kicking off celebrations this weekend – today we’re taking a look at five announcements you can expect from the show.

Keep up with our E3 coverage at our E3 2018 page.

1.Forza Horizon 4

The Forza games release like clockwork. Last year we got the latest in the Motorsport franchise, which means in 2018 we’re due for the next Horizon. The only thing we don’t know is where it will be set – anyone got any ideas?

2. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

The next instalment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise has been dubbed Odyssey – and that’s actually all we know. Ubisoft dropped this short teaser late last week, and we’ll have to wait until Ubisoft’s press conference to find out anything else about it.

3. Metroid Prime 4

First teased this time last year, with pretty much nothing but the number ‘4’, here’s hoping that this year Nintendo have a little more up their sleeves this year by way of Metroid Prime 4‘s details. Maybe even a release date?

4. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell

Every year Ubisoft close out their conference with a killer announcement, and this year should be no exception. All signs are pointing towards the next instalment in the Tom Clancy series to be headed back to Splinter Cell territory – let’s see what Ubisoft have to say on the matter.

5. Super Smash Bros. Switch

Another already-teased title, many eyes will be on the look out for more goss on the latest Smash Bros game, headed to the Nintendo Switch.

Take a look at a few other games we think might make an appearance at E3 next week
