If you’ve been around for a while, you may first think “Adults Only Tennis?!” at seeing that title. But, of course, it’s the return of the officially licensed Australian Open game, and it’s coming in time for our annual summer of tennis.

Developed by Aussie sports game stalwarts Big Ant, a bunch of improvements are promised over the 2018 original.

Chief amongst these is an all-new, narrative-driven career mode, which is set to provide deeper immersion into the world of pro tennis. More new stuff is promised, and will be revealed at a later date.

We do know that the full-on content editor will be returning, allowing customisation of pretty much everything to do with a player’s character and how they play. Plus, all community content from the original AO Tennis – some 20,000 players and several hundred courts – will be compatible.

As well as building their own career, players will be able to step into the sweaty shoes of such tennis luminaries as Rafael Nadal, Ash Barty and Angélique Kerber, and swing their racquets in any of the venues that will be used in the 2020 Australian Open.

AO Tennis 2 will be hitting home on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC from January 9, 2020 – just in time to practice for the real thing, which commences on January 20, 2020.
