Fancy yourself as a dab hand with a brush? No slouch with a pack of textas? Get some Shadow of the Colossus art happening and it may end up in a new book.
As promotion for the soon-to-be-released remake of PS2 classic Shadow of the Colossus on PS4, a global fan art competition is now underway. Submitted art that’s considered the best will appear in a limited edition hardback book, not-so-snappily titled Art Inspired by Shadow of the Colossus.
The name may be a bit meh, but at least we know that it will be a true limited edition item – seriously, we saw a deodorant advertised as “limited edition” last night. Ooh, we’d better clear space in our collectibles cabinet…
Professional illustrator Matt Taylor will create the cover and curate the fan art for the book, saying: “I’m really excited to be partnering with PlayStation on this campaign, and seeing the visual identity fans of the game come up with. There is a great tradition and rich history of the gaming community creating stunning artwork and I can’t wait to see what you all come up with.”
To enter, share your Shadow of the Colossus-inspired artwork on Twitter, using the hashtag #ColossusArt and tagging @playstation – entires close on February 21. If your artwork is one of those chosen then you’ll receive a copy of the book, and you’ll be a published artist!
All the terms and conditions stuff can be read here.
Shadow of the Colossus hits the PS4 on February 7.
