An action blast like any of the John Wick movies makes for excellent game fodder, but the upcoming John Wick Hex doesn’t go the route that you may expect.

It has all the action, gunplay and martial arts that you’d want, of course, but it isn’t set to be your traditional brawler/shooter.

Instead, it’s going to be more of a strategy game – a “fast-paced, action-oriented strategy game”, to be more precise.

Ian McShane and Lance Reddick will be lending their voices to the game, along with further unannounced-as-yet names. Hopefully these will include Wick himself, Keanu Reeves.

With a very stylized look, the game has a bloke named Mike Bithell behind its development, who was responsible for the very good – and very different – Thomas Was Alone.

Coming to consoles and PC, John Wick Hex isn’t dated as yet, but should be with us before year’s end. The teaser below gives us a little more to go on.

Meanwhile, the third Wick flick, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, is now showing in Australian cinemas. Check out our review here.
