Private Multiplayer Beta here, to let you know all about the first, well, private multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: WWII.
It’s ready to roll out first on August 25 for PS4, with Xbox One and PC to follow later.
Despite only offering up a small part of the full game’s range, there will still be a bunch of iconic WWII locations in which to fight – and help test the thing to ensure that it’s as solid as a rock when it hits on November 3. It also offers a chance to give feedback – hopefully constructive – for the developers to consider as the final touches are put on the game.
The newly-added ‘War Mode’ and ‘Divisions’ will both be a part of the testing, the former via the France-based ‘Operation Breakout’, the latter the replacement for the ‘Pick 10 Create-a-Class’ system. This sees the player enlisting in one of five iconic WWII fighting groups.
Here’s what to expect in the private multiplayer beta:
Maps: At least three multiplayer maps, including: Pointe Du Hoc, Ardennes and Gibraltar
War Mode: Operation Breakout
Modes: Fan-favourite modes, including ‘Team Deathmatch’, ‘Domination’ and ‘Hardpoint’.
Divisions: Enlist in the Infantry, Expeditionary, Airborne, Armored or Mountain Division.
Progression: Begin at Soldier Rank 1 and rank up to unlock weapons, scorestreaks, equipment and basic training skills.
