With Tokyo’s 2020 Olympics hopefully finally taking place this year, naturally there’s going to be a video game to go with it.

Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 – The Official Video Game is set to hit PS4, Xbox One and Switch on June 22, bringing 18 events for us to tackle from the comfiness of our couches.

Those 18 events are:

• 100m
• 4x100m Relay
• 110m Hurdles
• Hammer Throw
• Long Jump
• Baseball
• Basketball
• Beach Volleyball
• BMX (Cycling)
• Boxing
• Judo
• Rugby Sevens
• Football (Soccer)
• 100m Freestyle (Swimming)
• 200m Individual Medley (Swimming)
• Sport Climbing
• Table Tennis
• Tennis

The focus is more on fun than absolute realism, with the game featuring a comprehensive avatar creator. Promising over 100 different wardrobe choices, we’re pretty sure that we’ve never seen a pirate – or an astronaut for that matter – sweating it out in an Olympic arena.

Add eight-player online multiplayer, ranked games and global leaderboards and there can be plenty of competition from the safety of your own home. Well, it’ll be safe as long as you don’t trip over a coffee table or something like that…
