While those not in the know might dismiss esports as not being the real deal, the amount of effort that is required to truly perform at the top levels is very much akin to training for more traditional sports.
Beyond simple gaming skill, there’s the importance of health, including physical and mental fitness. There’s also knowing your gear and how to get the utmost from it, not to mention constantly training in order to be at your absolute peak best.
All of these subjects and more – such as parental education – will be covered at the upcoming BIG Esports High School Boot Camp.
It’s aimed at gamers aged 12 through 18 and their parents, and is set to take place on Saturday, December 15 at Hoyts Chadstone’s cinema 7 between 10am–3pm.
