We’ve had LEGO Star Wars games in the past, but nothing nearly as epic as what we’re promised from LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
Due for release in 2020, this one will feature levels based on “memorable moments” from all nine episodes of the main Star Wars movie saga, the ninth of which – Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – is due to hit screens at the end of this year.
Set to be the biggest ever LEGO game – and past ones have sometimes taken upwards of 50 hours to complete properly – players will be able to dive into whichever story they wish to right from the start. Yes, you can probably avoid Jar Jar Binks if you’re careful, although George Lucas probably won’t be very happy about it.
When we’re told big, it seems that they mean it. The largest ever roster of playable characters awaits, from the much-loved heroes (or villains if you like a walk on the Dark Side) to the most obscure.
A new experience built from the ground up – not a rehash of older LEGO Star Wars games – LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is set to hit the PS4, Xbox One and Switch at some point in 2020.
