Aussie sports game experts Big Ant have revealed details on, and a release date for, their latest offering, Cricket 22.

The “Official Game of The Ashes” is the follow-up to Cricket 19, and promises a bunch of shiny new things, as well as new-gen console support.

On top of allowing us to play the venerable Ashes series, we’ll also be able to face up at the crease to everything from the Big Bash to overseas competitions featuring licensed teams from Australia, England, The West Indies, New Zealand and Ireland. Both women’s and men’s competitions are set to feature.

As you’d expect, a raft of improvements are promised over its predecessor, going beyond the obvious bolstering of graphics quality. These are set to include tweaks to bowling and fielding controls, plus a deep, narrative-driven career mode and a new tutorial system to make even the biggest cricket novice a star in next to no time.

The commentary team is set to consist of Michael Atherton, Ian Healy, Mel Jones, Alison Mitchell and David Gower.

Cricket 22 releases for PS5, Xbox and PS4 on November 25, and Nintendo Switch on January 28, 2022. Pre-order now at JB Hi-Fi and receive mid-October access to The Nets Challenge, which you can find out more about just below in a handy video featuring Bajo:
