A massive new Hot Wheels expansion has landed for Forza Horizon 5, and even if you were never a fan of the teensy model cars, it’s a joy to behold.

It isn’t the first time that the two franchises have collided, but this addition to the Mexican motoring madness of Forza Horizon 5 is the biggest expansion yet – it’s huge!

Amongst the features of the giant new playground that’s suspended up in the sky are new biomes to explore, a selection of ten classic Hot Wheels vehicles to fang about in, a new five-chapter story telling the history of Hot Wheels, and the EventLab: The Hot Wheels Creation Kit with 80 chunks of track and other accessories to play with. There’s also a bunch of new achievements to get busy nailing down.

As well as the iconic orange tracks, there are all sorts of mad additions, ranging from classic loop-the-loops to waterways, bumpy bits to speed-up pads, and beyond.

Available right now, we spent a night getting to grips with tthe insanity of it all, and had an absolute blast. The intro race is one of the fastest things that we’ve ever experienced in a car game, and it’s really quite exhilarating.

If you own the Premium Edition of Forza Horizon 5 then you already have access to the Hot Wheels expansion, just make sure that you’re all up to date and head up north on the Mexico map to the new Hot Wheels icon. Otherwise, it’s available as purchasable DLC.

Meanwhile, we hope that the upcoming second expansion will revisit LEGO…
