All the fun of playing with Hot Wheels cars is set to get amped like crazy in the upcoming racing game Hot Wheels Unleashed.
We’ve already had a taste of how things could be with the excellent Hot Wheels add-on for Forza Horizon 3, but if the launch trailer is anything to go by this could be even cooler.
That being said, it is all cinematic, so the actual game could be quite different. If it adheres to what we see here though, we’re getting some serious vibes of Split/Second, which is possibly the most underrated racing game of all-time.
The game is set to feature various single and multiplayer modes, with the latter including both online and off.
According to the promotional stuff, “Hot Wheels Unleashed offers players the opportunity to drive the cars as if they were playing with the diecast toys. The gameplay includes adrenaline-filled races, an extended choice of Hot Wheels vehicles with different attributes and rarity levels that players can customise with different skins, and jaw-dropping tracks set in everyday-life locations with special track pieces and interactive items. The game also features a revolutionary Track Editor enabling players to customise tracks in any game environment and share them with the game’s community.”
Developers Milestone are behind the game, and they’ve previously given us such racing game franchises as Ride, MotoGP, MXGP and Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame.
There’s no specific release date as yet for Hot Wheels Unleashed, but it is set to come to PS5, Xbox, Switch, and PS4 “later this year”.
