Nintendo’s Labo – the melding of origami and gameplay expansion for the Switch console – offers all manner of experiences, such as playing music. Some master it better than others.

Revered horror director/composer John Carpenter had his cranky pants on when he sat down to play his theme to Halloween on Labo’s cardboard piano. All one octave of it.

As the video below attests, he didn’t particularly enjoy the experience…

The Labo piano is just one fifth of the Labo Variety Kit, which – unlike Carpenter – we had a lot of fun with. OK, so we didn’t try his Halloween theme, but we kicked out a wicked jam on Mary Had a Little Lamb.
