Next weekend’s Oceanic Pro League round of League of Legends will be dubbed the headspace round to promote mental health awareness.
Riot Games and headspace – the National Youth Mental Health Foundation in Australia – have come together for a round of games next weekend that will enable them to share advice and resources on the topic of mental health in young adults.
“With the OPL we have an opportunity to provide our players and viewers with information from headspace that can make a real difference to their lives, and those closest to them,” said Riot Head of Esports, Daniel Ringland, in a press release. “The OPL broadcast is a great avenue for headspace to share advice and resources that can support young players and esports fans across Australia.”
The OPL headspace round is on next weekend and can be viewed on Twitch and YouTube Gaming from 5pm Friday.
If you, or someone you know is going through a tough time you can find your nearest headspace centre at headspace.org.au or speak to a youth-friendly mental health clinician via phone or online at eheadspace.org.au.
