Most games have a big bad, an evildoer that the player must conquer. In the upcoming Far Cry 6, we may have the biggest and baddest yet in evil dictator Antón Castillo.
If the face looks familiar, that’s because when he’s not evilly dictating, he’s actor Giancarlo Esposito. He’s known for several roles, in particular as drug lord and fried chicken purveyor Gus Fring in Breaking Bad. Here, he is the ruler of the Cuba-inspired, fictional Caribbean island of Yara and, in a new trailer released as part of Ubisoft’s E3 2021 Forward presentation, we experience our player Dani Rojas’s introduction to him:
This wasn’t the only new look at Far Cry 6, with the unveiling of a really interesting-sounding post-launch season pass.
In what is a very cool feature, for the first time in Far Cry history season pass holders will be able to switch perspectives, playing as some of the series’ most notorious baddies. Fancy walking in the shoes of Vaas Montenegro? Sure! What about Pagan Min? Yep. Then, of course, there’s holy bloke Joseph Seed. The original actors have all returned to relive their roles, allowing us players to get more insight into how the minds of these antagonists work.
If that’s not cool enough, the season pass will see the return of the classic cyborg shooty-fest Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, in updated guise.
The complete list of inclusions with the season pass goes a lot like this:
– DLC Episode 1: Vaas: Insanity
– DLC Episode 2: Pagan: Control
– DLC Episode 3: Joseph: Collapse
– Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
– The Blood Dragon Set, which includes one outfit, two weapons, one vehicle, one weapon charm, one Fang for Hire and one vehicle chibi.
All the wild FPS action of Far Cry 6 is set to release on October 7 for PS5, Xbox and PS4. Pre-order now at JB Hi-Fi.
