Capcom’s decision to take Monster Hunter worldwide, with the aptly named Monster Hunter: World, has been a wise one. it’s now their biggest-selling title ever.
Considering that this is the same company that gave us brawler supreme Street Fighter II and its many variations, that’s really some achievement.
The open world action RPG has already notched up shipments in excess of 7.5 million units, and it’s still only available on two formats – PS4 and Xbox One. A PC version is expected later in 2018, but curiously there’s no word on a port for Nintendo’s Switch as yet.
This figure brings the lifetime sales of the Monster Hunter series to a staggering 48 million units in 14 years.
