This year’s Call of Duty is Vanguard, and it’s set in several theatres of war plucked straight from the history of World War II.

Developed by Sledgehammer Games, the story mode will see recruits become a member of the multinational Task Force One – the original Special Forces – in what is being touted as the “most connected” Call of Duty experience yet. Experience a campaign set over four of the major theatres of war – the Eastern and Western fronts of Europe, the Pacific and North Africa – featuring pivotal historical battles.

Multiplayer fans are in for a massive day one experience, with 20 multiplayer maps at launch.

New additions to the storied series include new custom ballistics and reactive environments, plus there’s the return of weapons building and customisation in ‘Gunsmith’.

Naturally, no CoD experience would be complete without zombies, and original undead developers Treyarch are set to deliver a franchise first crossover, as Vanguard connects with the zombies storyline of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is set for release on November 5, available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and XBox One. Pre-order now at JB Hi-Fi.

Here’s the reveal trailer – WARNING: This trailer contains often very graphic and violent scenes of warfare.
