Excelling in its first year, the Overwatch League will host its Stage Finals this Sunday (Australian time), with teams competing for their share of US$125,000.
Blizzard’s Overwatch League is showcasing the best talent in Overwatch right now from around the world, and takes place every Thursday to Sunday. For the last few weeks, teams have been battling it out in nail-biting finishes to prove who the best in a world full of heroes really is.
This weekend the League’s teams (with the top seven currently comprised of London Spitfire, New York Excelsior, Seoul Dynasty, Houston Outlaws, Boston Uprising, Los Angeles Valiant, and Philadelphia Fusion) will battle it out for the top three spots in this season’s first stage. The top three teams by standings at the end of this Sunday’s normal scheduled play will take each other on, with first place taking US$100K and runner up a neat US$25K.
Keen to get a piece of the action? We Aussies can check it out live on Twitch.tv, MLG.com, or OverwatchLeague.com, or on the actually very good Overwatch League app. The semi-finals (2nd vs 3rd place) will kick off 12pm AEDT, and the winner of that bout will then take on the top ranked team in the final at roughly 2pm AEDT. If you’re so inclined, you can check out a more in-depth overview of the weekend’s proceedings at the Overwatch League website.
May the best team win.
