The second anniversary of Battleborn destroyer Overwatch is nigh, and Blizzard want players to join in on the festivities.
From May 23 through to June 12 (AEST), players will be able to log-in to Overwatch and get their party on.
A pile of new content is planned for the celebrations, including more than 50 new cosmetic items and the new Deathmatch map, Petra. On top of this, the event will bring back all seasonal cosmetic items, as well as most of the past seasonal brawls.
The 50 new items will include eight new Legendary skins and three Epic skins, while new dance emotes have been added for Doomfist, Moira and Brigitte.
As well as Petra, a new “Competitive Mode” will be added to Deathmatch, which will include placement matches, skill rating tiers and leader boards.
The cool stuff doesn’t stop there though. Players who log-in for the Anniversary event will receive a bonus Legendary Anniversary Loot Box, which will guarantee one Legendary item, and if the 50 Loot Box Bundle is purchased then it will yield a bonus Legendary Anniversary Loot Box. As an added extra, all previous Seasonal Event loot will be included in loot boxes during the duration of the event.
Loot! Loot! Loot!
Finally, if you haven’t been seduced by the charms of Overwatch as yet, you’ll be able to partake in a free play weekend from 4am (AEST) on May 26 through to May 29 to get a taste of being a hero and saving the world.
Meanwhile, here’s a bit of Overwatch history…
