With all that we went through in 2020, it’s likely fair to say that Super Mario Party wasn’t the most played game on Switch. Now Nintendo have spruced it up.

In an admirable mood for a fairly old game now – but testament to the staying power of their first-party games – the Big N has added online play with members of friends lists to their fun/frustrating video board game.

The Mario Party and Partner Party modes, plus 70 of the game’s 80 minigames, are now all playable online for up to four players.

The update is a free one that’s available now just by updating the game on your Switch, all that’s required on top of that for online play is, not unreasonably, a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
