After a couple of false starts, the gorgeous animated tale of Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is finally launching this week.
The sequel to the Studio Ghibli-infused JRPG Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch takes place several hundred years later, with boy king Evan Pettiwhisker Tildrum determined to build his own kingdom, where everybody can live happily ever after. Needless to say, however, nefarious types have other plans.
Animation artist Yoshiyuki Momose once again lends his incredible character design talents to proceedings, while Joe Hisaishi – a veteran of more than 100 feature movie scores – returns to musical duties.
Revenant Kingdom once again sees a combination of both new and traditional RPG elements combining, presenting dozens of locations to explore, oodles of quests, secrets to reveal and hundreds of creatures to fight within the game’s real-time battle system.
Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom launches this Friday for PS4, with a stunning JB Hi-Fi-exclusive steelbook version available here.
There are also some very fine Pop! Vinyl figures available of the game’s Evan, Tani and Roland. Check them out here.
