This year’s new official FIFA 22 soccer game has been revealed, complete with Aussie Tim Cahill as an incoming inaugural FUT Hero.
Here’s his little badge type dealie:
As for the main game, the big new thing that EA are touting is “next-gen HyperMotion technology”, which uses proprietary machine learning technology to translate real-life data into gameplay in every match, in every mode on the new-gen consoles.
“FIFA 22 offers millions of fans around the world a chance to engage with the sport they love in an unprecedented way,” said Nick Wlodyka, GM, EA Sports FIFA. “Each player experiences FIFA in their own way, but on-pitch gameplay is the unifying constant, so we’re excited to offer deep innovation there. HyperMotion elevates that even further on next-gen consoles and completely changes the feel of the game”.
It isn’t all about the shiny new tech though, with popular modes such as Career Mode, Volta Football, Pro Clubs and FIFA Ultimate Team all returning. We’re promised a complete goalkeeper system rebuild, an all-new ‘Create a Club’ experience in Career Mode, reimagined gameplay in Volta Football, and the introduction of FIFA Ultimate Team Heroes, including Mr Cahill.
Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappé is set to be the cover star for the second year running.
FIFA 22 launches on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and Xbox One on October 1. Pre-order now at JB Hi-Fi.
