A major update is now rolling out for the PlayStation 5, adding a bunch of features and updated stuff.

The biggest one is that finally we can jam a compatible SSD drive inside our big white console to bolster internal storage. They ain’t cheap, but they sure are handy.

Other updates include tweaks to user interface customisation, social functions, library display and even setting up 3D audio to be simulated via your TV speaker(s) if you don’t have everything running through a receiver/multiple speaker setup.

The overseas video below highlights all of these – and, sadly, more such as updates to the game streaming service PlayStation Now, which Australia still doesn’t have some seven years down the track from its launch.

Oh, PS4 owners also get a handful of new things – you’re still loved!
