Back in the 1990s, movie license games were a really big thing. Many of them were rubbish, but every so often one or two would come along and buck that trend, including both Aladdin and The Lion King.
Both of these console platformer games attracted legions of fans for their cool – but challenging – gameplay, and now they’re back to entertain (and torture) the latest generation of players. Oh, and those of us nostalgic for a bit of classic 16-bit action, too!
Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King is out today, giving the classic stories an updated spit and polish, with a bunch of enhancements and bonuses shoehorned into the package. The original versions from various formats are included, along with graphically upscaled takes. Save states, customisable controls and a bunch of cheat features are also packed in, as well as a museum of behind the scenes bits and bobs, including interviews, art and music.
Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King is out now for PS4, Xbox One and Switch.
