Launching a new IP can be challenging, but when you’re FromSoftware, the developers of the Dark Souls games, your reputation precedes you.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is their latest, and it will take players back to Sengoku Japan in the late 1500s. It was a brutal time, and those brave enough will face larger-than-life foes in a dark and twisted world, using a combination of deadly prosthetic tools (as our protagonist only have one arm – told you it was a brutal time) and powerful ninja abilities. The aim? revenge, of course!
The new story preview below doesn’t tell us much, but does deliver an inspiring Mr Miyagi-styled moment. What we do know is that unlike the Souls games, this one will feature more all-out action, without a raft of RPG elements.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will slice and dice on PS4, Xbox One and PC from March 22.
