If you’re an F1 fan you likely have Codemasters’ ace F1 2017 by now. Great news is that a massive update has just gone live.
Probably the best news is that updated car liveries have finally been added. These come alongside updates to car performance levels.
On top of this, Patch 1.9 also adds a first for the series in a fully-featured photo mode. Take shots, save shots and share shots of your on-track heroics.
Other new features include several enhanced eSports-related bits and bobs, one of which is a shiny new spectator mode that adds a TV-style broadcast element on the left-hand side of the screen. You can now showcase all sorts of statistics, including running order, gap to the race leader, gap to the car ahead or behind, positions lost or gained, fastest lap times, number of pit stops and even what tyre compound is being used.
Speaking of tyres, here’s a favourite Murray Walker quote: “The tyres are called wets, because they’re used in the wet. And these tyres are called slicks, because they’re very slick.”
Rounding things out are a LAN mode on PS4, plus the additon of a new grid editor in custom multiplayer modes. Oh yeah, there’s a bunch of bug fixes, too. It is a patch, after all.
