Super Nintendo World is already a thing at Universal Studios in Japan, and it’s coming to the Hollywood one too. A tease for its star attraction, Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, has us super-excited.

An entire Nitnendo-themed theme park inside a bigger theme park, Super Nintendo World is full of Mushroom Kingdom goodness, and this ride is set to take centre stage.

It’s basically a rollercoaster meets augmented reality experience, where participants don AR goggles and sit in an oversized kart, then “race ” through underwater and sky-based courses, hoping to defeat Bowser and win the Golden Cup. There’s replay value, too, as certain choices along the way dictate the outcome that you get.

The press release boasts that it’s “one of the world’s largest, most interactive rides”, and we’ll be able to experience it from “early 2023”, which just may coincide with the release of Illumination’s Super Mario movie in April.

Here, take a (very) quick ride – should we start queueing up now?
